But I am seeing the news on TV at the moment and they say that the suspect surrendered and is now in custody.
To me its a suprising thing because usually these armed suspects would commit suicide after having done a murder spree of this proportion. Especially after having shot and downed police.
EDIT: Total of 12 Casualties. 4 dead, the rest unknown.
-The gunman was a reportedly a heavy-set white male with a beard
Okay, there were a lot of amazing games as well as bunch of terrible games, but what about those games in the middle? These are games that had so much potential or was hyped, yet led to a disappointing release. Here are 10 games I thought were pretty disappointing.
10. Detroit: Become Human
Okay, please put down the pitchforks and torches for a minute. This game isn't inherently a bad game. The voice acting and motion capture are nice, and the graphics are very pretty and well detailed. But this game is also very repetitive in gameplay design. QTE, Button mash, and Dialog choices. The story is great with the branching paths, but I ended up liking Connor while other player characters felt really boring.
9. Fable Fortune
This was Fable's take on virtual card game like hearthstone, and instead of that game I decided to go with this one instead because of the fond memory I had with Fable 1 & 2. But I found it was no where near the level of Gwent from Witcher 3. I don't know if the cancellation of Fable Legends affected the release of this game, but it certainly did not called me back to the lands of Albion
8. Assassin's Creed: Rogue (XB1)
I never got around playing this game in the past gen consoles. After having fun with Black Flag, I thought this game would be interesting. Aside from a few cool Templar Characters and their side of the story, I didn't think I found much difference in the core gameplay as how assassins would've handled each situation. It is almost same as Black Flag, which I felt really disappointed because I think this game could've been so much more. Oh well, at least the story was kinda neat
7. Sea Of Thieves
I'm sorry, but this game still feels more like a tech demo for Xbox one X. There is little to no content here. I don't know if they added the AI crew like they said they would, but this game forces people to get friends and other players to operate a ship. I never could get anyone to play with me, and those short moments of laughing and arguing while sailing were too short. The gameplay is very repetitive. I would say the game still looks nice.
6. Far Cry 5
Some people might disagree with me on this, but I found FC5 to be lackluster. Yes, the game looks gorgeous (IDK how well it portrays Montana) and the outpost liberation is fun, but the story was kind of a bummer. First, you play as a silent protagonist named Rook, having a personality of sandpaper. Then, you face off against the crazy cult family. The characters are interesting, but I'd say they are nowhere near the levels of the ones found in FC3 and 4
5. State of Decay 2
So you know how in Angry Joe Show the Other Joe asks "You wanna play a zombie game?". That's how I feel about SOD2; The survival resource gathering aspect of the game is great, and it is even better when friends are involved. But the repetitive mission and the world feeling really barren (special zombies? Other survivors? Hello?), makes SOD2 disappointing sequel.
4. Vampyr
Love the setting, and the characters. Hate the gameplay and the combat.
3. We Happy Few
Ever since the announcement, the concept and the setting grabbed my attention. I was one of the first few people to try out the early-access, and I found the game to be alright back then. After the full release, I can see they made many improvements here and there, but was really disappointed by how the three story arcs basically played out the same. Yes, the stealth and scavenging for resources are nice. But there is very little consequences for acting out in the public.
2. The Walking Dead Final season ep. 2
Just like the TWD TV show, I feel the game series has also worn its novelty off. Same QTE, Button Mash, Dialog choices, walking around the map finding clues and items. It's all the same. The characters aside from Clem and AJ, feels really boring. I'm actually kinda glad TTG ended after this game because the future games, no matter what IP they decide to borrow from, would've followed the outdated format.
1. Battlefield V
The "I'm not educated to buy this game" Joke aside, My initial thoughts were that BFV was gonna be alternative scenarios of WWII. What I got instead was a game that can't decide whether it wants to be a game based on traditional WWII or an alternative timeline scenario. The campaign is kinda bad, especially the one with the ski girl as it completely disregards of efforts of the real soldiers who attempted very similar operation. But I guess we got this girl instead because "it's a possibility". The multiplayer is kinda fun, but the modes and maps are very limited, and the class roles are messy. Why add a time frame to cling on to life? That defeats the purpose of having a medic class. BFV isn't a terrible game, but it's not a great game either.
Once arrested on suspicion of second degree murder, James Fields, the 20 year old male who purposefully drove his car into a crowd of counter protesters, has been found guilty of first degree murder for the death of Heather Heyer. As well as five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of malicious wounding, and one count of leaving the scene of a crash.
More importantly, the jury rejected arguments by lawyers for Fields that he acted in self-defense during the events. Also that she totally didn't die of a heart attack or something dumb like that.
The jury will continue monday with the sentencing, which will be anywhere from 20 years to life for the murder charge plus whatever they throw on for the other accounts of wounding and assault.

So, it's been a long strange trip since this all happened back in August. We've seen a lot, done a lot, and faced a lot since then.
Has what we've seen since change your opinion on the event?
Do you think it's a fair result?
Merry Christmas all! How did you do gift wise?
Let the bragging commence!
I had a blast. Stuffed silly. Drinking the last of egg nog.
I have an OG Xbox 1. Got the X today with Red Dead Redemption. Played through the start. Awesome.
How did you do?
Costs less if you buy with gold, but do you keep the game if you no longer have gold? That's not how "free" gold games work. Stop the gold subscription, you don't keep the game.
Remember how a large part of the plot of Avengers revolved around Loki controlling the minds of Hawkeye and other people with his the scepter that Thaons gave him (which turned out to be the Mind Stone)? Well it turns out that same scepter was controlling Loki as well.
Marvel's official website has now confirmed that the MCU version of Loki was indeed influenced by the Mind Stone in the first Avengers movie, which caused him to carry out the attack on New York.
If you go to the "Loki On Screen" page on Marvel's website, you'll find the following excerpt has part of his biography:
"Arriving at the Sanctuary through a wormhole caused by the Bifrost, Loki met the Other, ruler of the ancient race of extraterrestrials the Chitauri, and Thanos. Offering the God of Mischief dominion over his brother?s favorite realm Earth, Thanos requested the Tesseract in return. Gifted with a Scepter that acted as a mind control device, Loki would be able to influence others. Unbeknownst to him, the Scepter was also influencing him, fueling his hatred over his brother Thor and the inhabitants of Earth."
https://comicbook.com/marvel/2018/12/28/loki-avengers-controlled-by-mind-stone-scepter/
I honestly thought it was just him being scared of Thanos. I suppose the sceptre influencing it's wielder isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Merry Christmas, US federal employees! Just what you needed to enjoy the festive season.
For those not aware of the details, the Senate has refused to fund a border wall, and Trump won't pass the budget, so the government can't pay for a load of its work. This is not a particularly big shutdown - only a modest proportion of the US bureaucracy is currently on indefinite leave.
Apparently there were frantic negotiations to prevent it, and when it became evident Trump wouldn't get the votes, he looked like he would accept a temporary extension. However, various conservative talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh started complaining about the idea of Trump conceding, and so naturally he bowed to these rabid morons who broadcast to his base.
This thread is just about giving ideas that are contrary to commonly held beliefs. Nothing really too serious. Just present how you view things differently.
Something that have been a thorn in my side for the longest period of time. The idea that Goku is a bad person. A lot of people cite his bad parenting, his self centered ways, and his lust for fighting above all else as reasons why he's a bad person. I think they are completely wrong.
I think the entire reality around Goku are bad people, and they try to spin it onto Goku.
A few things to get in order. First, He has had a Brain Injury that was severe enough to change his personality (scroll to number 1). Two, The Flying Nimbus Cloud. You literally can not ride it if you don't have a pure heart. And for those who think that since he grew up, he might have become a jerk... Number three: The Spirit Bomb. An attack that can only be used by someone with a Pure Heart. Which also answers the question why no one else uses the technique.
After his Adoptive Grandfather dies, the next person he meets is Bulma... a woman who tries to shoot him, steal his only keepsake of his Grandfather (the only person who he loved and took care of him out of the kindness of his heart), and then manipulates Goku into coming along to get the dragon balls because she knew she couldn't take it away from him.
From that point on, everyone Goku meets tries to kill him or trick him... or have him fight people who have no issue killing him for their own benefit. The only person that takes him in for any amount of time is Master Roshi. Master Roshi, however, took this as a chance to get a young boy to bring him a hot woman to ogle.
No one tries to teach Goku about the world. About education. I don't even rightly know how he knows how to read. No one actually teaches him about the world around him, they just yell at him when he doesn't know what they had to learn themselves with families and people who cared about them. People only seem to care about him when they need saving.
Goku is a bad father? He doesn't know what family is really. He doesn't even know what a healthy relationship is. Everyone he is friends with has tried to either kill him or use him. There is no exception to this. Even Trunks took out his sword and tested him to see if he could trust the fate of the world on his shoulders.
And Let's be real, if Goku wasn't as strong as Trunks needed him to be, he would have cut Goku up.
Sure, people like Goku. But no one cares about Goku. In terms of his actual well being. People yell that he should be a better father. We're talking about the boy who thought Marriage was a type of food, and that didn't stop his eventual wife from saying "...Oh shit, cut my weird little girl dreams, this boy needs far more help than I thought".
Also, that doesn't stop her from yelling at him to get a job. Doing what? He was trained for what? A Lawyer? A Doctor? A police officer? No one taught him how to be a human, yet everyone gets on his case that he's not like us.
That's the entire world failing Goku. Not the other way around.
Anyway, that's my Devil's Advocate. You got any?

Amazing what people are doing in their basements these days.
Makes one wonder what is going to happen to the mainstream movie industry.
So it recently dawned on me that I, as well as a massive number of other video game nerds pay way too much attention to the actual industry. Generally speaking, we know whether a game (or sometimes a company) will crash and burn or be a hit long before the actual investors do.
Doesn't that give us a big leg up on the investors? Doesn't that mean that geeks who spend all day reading game news have a pretty solid chance at coming out ahead when investing in games?
Combine that with the fact that game stock prices are currently crashing, doesn't that make it a very good time to try to buy stocks while they are cheap?
I haven't really invested before, but this makes me want to try.
Does anyone with any knowledge on investment have opinions or advice on this?

Essentially Razorfist claims the FBI as of recent times is inexorably corrupt and far outlived its original mandate and purpose and long overdue for dissolution. And of course he shows me a bunch of images of website articles (without showing which website it is exactly or linking his sources, and said article list itself as an opinion.)
But still I want to know what other people have to say about this topic of whether the FBI today is corrupt and what not?
So we have a few people on here who might trot out this term a bit too often.
But the response fascinates me. It doesn't come to a discussion on whether the words that 'racist' was applied to was actually racist. Or different interpretations of the word racist.
No, it becomes an all out brawl on shutting down the opposition without thinking about their position. Usually in that same discussion, someone points out how the word shuts down conversations (which is correct) while simultaneously shutting down the person who uses the word racist. And the latter learns absolutely nothing other than everybody is a hypocrite.
PS. I think this site is actually much better with trigger words like racist. There are many worse places out there. But it still happens.
Also, discussion on what you think is/not racist would interest me.

TLDR, trying to enforce Merry Christmas over Happy Holidays (and similar things related to Xmas) is breaks down Jefferson's Wall. Personally, I think Merry Christmas is Politically Correct.
Now I recognise that it comes down to how you define, becuase, I'm going to assume, whatever most people's definition is, it would include something about Left/ Progressive exclusively. Becuase it doesn't get used against the Right. My definition is something like a politically motivated speech that is meant to suppress the opponents arguments. Happy Holidays is meant to be inclusive but a lot of Christians feel excluded Becuase they think it superceeds their traditions. 'The War on Christmas' campaign made many retailer backtrack and go back to only saying Merry Christmas. So How is that not PC?
So, what your definition of PC? Are the Conservative PC too?
And most importantly for me, why hasn't the Left started using it against the Right? Becuase that makes no sense to me
