I just read this Cracked article http://www.cracked.com/article_20065_5-ways-your-taste-in-music-scientifically-programmed.html and since I'm banned there for the second time I decided to comment here.
One of the comments of the article is:
"If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music. "
Gustav Mahler
.
I really don't get the obsession with songs these days :-/
Which I think it's completly true. It's why I find it easier to listen to non Enhlish songs to English ones, because I cant understand what they are saying (if I could I would realise how stupid the lyrics are)
I'd like to say I give importance 90% to sound and 10% to the lyrics but I think it's really 100% to 0%
Not that I don't like listen to someone chanting something of course, but what they say is irrelevant.
What do you think about sound vs lyrics?
