Pokemon "Gardevoir" Are Meant To Be Female

Note: This is not a thread to disrespect crossdressers, transgenders, or homosexuals. I respect whom they are and their choices in life.

Yeah, it's never really a good idea to invest to deeply in thought about cartoons, a series, or question a character behind their design when it shouldn't (or doesn't) have any real meaning behind their model. However when looking into the Pokemon series since my girlfriend and I were sharing childhood memories, I came across a particular Pokemon that got my mind to wonder-

Yep, you've guessed it. Gardevoir, psychic type Pokemon that has a human-like structure to it. It was first introduced in the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games and what first came to mind was "This should be a female only Pokemon."

Look at this video to understand my point further:

Did you see how near the end, it did a "proper greeting" that women would naturally do or least in the Disney movies past, mostly in US culture? I wouldn't really ponder about this manner if it was a male and just had the figure of a female- however, it's characteristics and voice included make me question why their species be a male as well in the series. How come they didn't make a male version to the Gardevoir? Here is my question to you all:

Question: It's not whether it's a 'right or wrong' stance in morals, but rather wanted to know if you're ok with characters being very much like females yet they are a male. This can apply in games, anime, and basically real life too. I don't have beef with this Pokemon, yet I don't think there should be male Gardevoir's simply because it seems wrong to me. Not moral wise, but like "Wait you appear as a girl, sound like a girl, act like a girl, yet you're a male ... what?"

If people in real life act like a girl and have all the traits but are male in the end, I can accept that. However fictional characters that are male just because tend to conflict me. It doesn't seem to make sense, but again I am looking to deeply into this. Hopefully I didn't come off as disrespectful so forgive me if I did offend you in any possible way. My point is that Gardevoir resembles a female so much in every possible way, it's hard to believe they can be male.
