Hello, today I am scouting for 6 voice actors for parts in my upcoming visual novel "Twisted Lies" a visual novel based in a fictional school for people who are "gifted", people who have the ability to do something that other humans cannot such as read minds, manipulate fire, manipulate sound. While the game offers the play a chance to become romantically involved with one of the many characters in the story its not the only option the player has you may have a whole play through as a someone who is single and still get a good story out of it by exploring the world and learning about how the "gifted" are treated and how the world you are in has been effected by them.

Here are a few things voice actors who want to apply should keep in mind:
1) Accents - While I don't mind accents and actually wouldn't mind having a verity of them in the VN if English isn't your first language and you have issues pronouncing words clearly or your accent is to thick to understand longer words through, I would advice against applying for a role.
2) Please be free - if you know you won't be able to record lines for 7 months after this week please do not apply the worst feeling ever is finding that perfect voice and then having it drop out after 4 lines are done.

4) Whilst I do not require you to record every line for an audition the more lines you do the better feel I will get for your voice
5) The deadline for these 6 parts are June 31st 2013.
6) one audio file per character is fine, it is preferred that you have each line in its own file but either one is acceptable

While I am aware these were all "stay away" comments I don't want to dishearten anyone from applying its just a few things to note when you apply.
Without further ado, here are the roles that I am currently looking for voice actors for.
(Please note all of the characters basic information was written just as a summary and due to that are not very well written as I am the artist not the writer and are subject to change)

Name: Hinaka
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Gift: Uncontrollable Telepathy
Voice: Soft spoken, stutters from time to time
Basic character information:
Hinaka has been attending the school of the gifted since she was 14, her ability only happens very rarely (normally in high emotion situations) and normally only lasts for about a minute or so, in which time she can hear the thoughts of anyone she is looking at.
Hinaka is a very shy closed off person due to some issues she has had in the past and prefers to not communicate with others because of this she will often get extremely worked up during even simple conversation.
The only person Hinaka is really comfortable talking to is Gabriel she says its because she has never been able to hear his thoughts even at the peak of her ability
Audition Lines:
Line 1: (Shaken Voice) I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend, I-I can go if you want.
Line 2: (Slight Anger) You have no idea do you (pause) please just leave, I can't bare to look at your right now
Line 3: (Nearly in tears) Why are you trying so hard (pause) why do you think I matter so much (breaks down) I just want you to leave me alone.
Line 4: (Gives a quiet giggle) Y-Yes of course that must be the only explanation, y-your rugged manliness just got the better of me (Laughs)
Line 5: (Panic should slowly build as this is being read) A-Actually I-I think you have worked that out a little wrong (pause) I-Its nothing big just a simple mistake (Pause) N-Not that I am calling you simple I-I-Its just a common mistake (voice raises) not that I think I am above common mistakes--
Line 6: (calm) Sorry, I just get a bit flustered with my words from time to time, I truly meant no offence
Name: Ami
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Gift: Manipulate Sound
Voice: Full of energy
Basic character information: Ami is an extremely energetic girl who is able to control sound around her, this allows her to do such things as block out noise in an area making loud crashes become silent, throw her voice and make an extremely loud deafening sound, unlike many students at the school Ami has 100% control over her ability and has done since she was a child.
Amis bouncy nature tends to make her speak her mind before she has had a chance to think about if it will offend anyone.
Ami is friendly towards most but never lets anyone get to close to her
Audition Lines:
Line 1: (Playfully) On the upside I can see that the knock to your head has in no way effects your libido
Line 2: Right! On your feet, come on up up up!
Line 3: (worried) Come on lets go, there just trying to screw with you
Line 4: (Very panicked) Please don't, you don't need to prove anything to them or to me.
Line 5: (Quiet and calm) You truly are a fool aren't you, you had me worried to death (voice lowers) if anything had happen I (long pause) (clears throat and back to very energetic and playful but attempt to make it sound faked) I would have done a terrible job looking after the new kid and the last thing I want is another lecture from Adam.
Line 6: Your such a stick in the mud sometimes you know that, (mock high pitch voice) "don't jump off the bridge, no I don't want to steal a plane, maybe wrestling a bear is a bad idea" (back to normal) honestly its like fun is impossible when your around (laughs)
Name: Jesia
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Gift: Short range teleportation
Voice: Confident, Well Spoken
Basic character information: Jesia comes from a high class non-gifted family who sent her to the school the second they found out she had an ability, not out of hate or fear but for her own safety.
Her ability is a short range teleport which allows her to quickly move from place to place the distance she has been able to travel with this hasn't really changed much since she was a child.
She is one of the more popular girls at the school and is extremely intelligent and has hopes of being able to move back home and get a job in her fathers company once she has gotten her gift under control.
Whilst at the school though she has become very close to Gabriel who has warped her perception of normal people in to something more negative than when she arrived non the less she wants to move back in to society.
Audition Lines:
Line 1: I don't think we are better, I know we are
Line 2: Hey cheer up, I was only messing with you newbie come on I know a quick way back
Line 3: Not everyone here is like us, some are just here because they look like us, they don't have a gift but because humanity fears us so much they seal every potential threat away, if they can't see us it doesn't effect them
Line 4: Silly newbie, always biting off more than he can chew, pick yourself up and get out of here
Line 5: (Under her breath) How dare you speak to me like that...(Pause in to a raised voice) You god damn filth
Name: Alex
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Gift: Heat manipulation
Voice: Laid back, calm
Basic character information:
Alex is the son of Eve the founder of the school that you attend in the story, because of this alex has been around gifted people since he was born.
Alex has only recently been able to control his ability, since the age of 8 Alex when angry has had uncontrollable control over heat which normally manifests in him causing objects around him to catch fire normally small fires nothing that could cause major issue.
Alexs laid back attitude has come from him finding ways to deal with his anger in order to be sure that he does not put anyone in danger.
Whilst anger is the most likely to cause a raise in his ability it is not he only emotion that can cause this issue.
Audition Lines:
Line 1: No I am not saying its a bad idea at all, I am saying I wouldn't have the guts to do something like that myself (laughs)
Line 2: Whoa hey come back (sighs) why do we always have to run...
Line 3: (laughs) I don't hate anyone, there are just certain people I avoid more than others I am not a huge fan of conflict
Line 4: I guess I was one of the lucky ones, the area I was in was pretty expecting of the gifted, I think the eyes made them uncomfortable more than my ability to boil water (laughs)
Line 5: Step aside Gabriel I don't have time to deal with your crap today
Line 6: (shaken voice upset) There was nothing I could do even when I gave it everything I had I still failed
Name: Gabriel
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Gift: Telekinesis
Voice: Flips between Emotionless and overly emotional
Basic character information: Gabriel is the most powerful gifted person to attend the school, he should be at a military confinement camp where many highly powerful gifted are put for the safety of others but Gabriel managed to escape from one of these camps along with his younger sister (Who also had Telekinesis) and fled to the school when he was 16, upon becoming good friends with Eve she agreed to hide him in the school as long as he and his sister repressed there powers.
2 years later Gabriels sister died of a heart attack bought on by the stress to her body caused by her repressing her ability.
Because of what happened to them in the camp and what happened to his sister afterwards Gabriel has a strong hatred for the military and the government but not for humanity itself as he has found good in many normal people.
Audition Lines:
Line 1: (Emotionless) Hello, I don't believe we have met, my name is Gabriel Hart
Line 2: I see no reason to attend, so I wont be going its simple logic I am struggling to see what is confusing you about this
Line 3: (Suppressed anger) Get out of my way
Line 4: You have no idea what its like in one of those camps, so don't think that you understand what I have been through (under his breath) what she went through
Line 5: (Laughs) No I had never thought of it like that before
Line 6: (Anger) This filth has decided that it is better than us, how truly disgusting, the idea of you being above me, being in charge of me makes me sick to my stomach
Line 7: (Emotionless) I don't feel that we are above them at all but I do feel that we should be on the same level as them not pushed aside and locked away like diseased cattle.
Name: Hira (Design still a work in progress)*
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Gift: Liquid Manipulation
Voice: Cocky yet calm
Basic character information: Hira join the school for the gifted only 6 months before you arrived and even in this short amount of time has found himself to be a social outcast, conflicting with nearly everyone he meets.
Whilst he is in no way an aggressive person he has a way of pushing people buttons perfectly until they get to breaking point a skill he says he has had for a long time and finds it enjoyable to get people worked up if he can, again its not something he will go out of his way to do, he will happily engage in small talk and even have a long conversation with someone without going down this path but if he sense conflict he will instantly snap to this mode of attempting to get people riled up, when he joined the school he caused issues for himself by using this skill on Jesia to cause conflict and Jesia is one of the more popular people at the school he found that this caused him conflict with a large number of people at the school.
One of the few people he hasn't gotten on the bad side of is Ami (because its almost impossible to get on her bad side) who he has grown fairly fond of and spends most of his free time with
Audition Lines:
Line 1: You think he would have learned by now. They don't want him on the outside, they don't want to see him, they don't want have to think about us in here (pause) out of sight out of mind after all
Line 2: (Calming) Don't cry (long pause) Take my hand I have something I want to show you
Line 3: Now now, I think throwing a punch would be a mistake on your part whilst I wont start a fight I will happily put you to the ground if you give me reason to do so.
Line 4: Whoa now, no reason to be upset I was merely giving me perspective on the situation, now if you would kindly let go of my shirt before I remove it myself
Line 5: (Under breath and almost in tears) I promised you that I would protect you and I failed (voice lowers and becomes weak) I am so sorry
Line 6: (laughs) if he wants to fight me then so be it, its hardly my fault that he can't keep control of his own emotions is it.
