You know how publishers are. They don't want games with famale protagonists because, apparently, games with female protagonists don't sell well. Of course they neglect the fact that they don't advertize games with female protagonists as much.
Tomb Raider takes a piss all over that obsurd notion. It sold over 1 million units in two days and is currently at 1.5 million.
Not that publishers will clue in. When Dead or Alive started selling well, they assumed it was all about the sexual appeal; and, when sales dropped as the made the series all about sex, they conveniently ignored sales figures. I'm afraid they'll claim that every other female protagonist is different from Lara because of "reasons".
