What, in your opinion, are things thaf aren't totally deserving of their respective scorn and derision? What do you think deserves a second chance, another look, or a chance at redemption?
For my money, Dragon Age 2. Yes, in terms of combat and interface, it's a dumb child when compared to DA:O (I never said these examples had to perfect). However, I see people comparing it to the unmitigated travesty that it Ultima 9, and that's just not fair. Yeah, it's simplified, but it works doesn't it? It's not like it actively pisses on the narrative.
Edit: I suppose I should narrow it down a little. I suppose I'm really just talking about entertainment; video games, movies, that sort of thing.
