In response to Sandy Hook (since in the US it takes children getting butchered before we actually do anything), Senator Diane Feinstein has created a new anti-gun legislation:

Settle down, those who think the government is coming to take your 9mm pistol away.
It expands the 1994 assault weapons ban by banning weapons with 1 of the 3 military characteristics, and bans weapons from holding more than 10 rounds in a clip or magazine. It would ban 120 specific assault weapons. It would also require stricter ID screenings to acquire a firearm. Those already owning one of the 120 banned guns would be able to keep theirs after getting it registered. 900 other weapons used for sport and hunting purposes would not be banned, as well as antique weapons.
Thoughts? Too far? Not far enough?
Personally, this is the best piece of legislation I've seen in years. No one outside the military or police needs a weapon with more than 10 rounds to protect themselves.
