Intro cinematics are as common as anything else in gaming, and like everything else in gaming everyone has their favorites as well as their picks for best ever.
One problem I've found is that there are two seperate entities, Game Intros (anything that shows before you press anything) and Campaign/Career Intros. What am I on about? Why I'd be happy to explain by using a game everyone here should know Mass Effect 2. Now I know what you're saying, "Hey dumbass, ME2 doesn't have a 'Game' Intro." Well, by the definition I have established, the cinematic doesn't have to come up immediately, it still counts if you have to wait a minute for it to show up, as is the case with Mass Effect, the Kingdom Hearts games, and any other title you can think of where you might have to wait a minute before pressing start. Campaign Intros are really can't come any other way than up front upon mode selection, but again my definition differs, and I state for these purposes, any cinematics that occur before the tutorials kick in, such as in ME2 where you have the initial video, then the VERY brief walkthrough of the dying SR-1 Normandy, then character creation, and finally the tutorial. For me, everything up to Miranada giving you orders would count. No, you can't argue it.
So with that, what do you, the members of the Escapist, count as you're favorite/the best intro cinematic in gaming.
Here are mine, one of each just for show.
P.S.: Now, just so you know, a gameplay demo doesn't count as a cinematic, so games like Super Mario Bros. on the NES don't count.
