Poll: Why would anybody drink this?

Before anybody says it: Yes, I know that ALL sodas are bad for you and your teeth and all of that stuff.

However, that doesn't mean that all sodas are EQUALLY harmful.

A bit of a backstory needs to be explained:

A couple of months ago I had to start a series of dental repairs that have costed me about 1300 or so dollars. The reason is that I had lots of holes and stuff in my teeth that had to be filled and/or fixed, and the reason for that was that I had been drinking WAY too much soda like coke.

Now after this nonsense is over and my dentist told me to ease on my soda drinking, I have started to simply drink other drinks that aren't bad for your teeth instead but still allow myself to drink some soda during the weekends. However, because I am trying to avoid drinking too much soda or soda that is horrible for your teeth (and by horrible I mean more horrible then most other soda in comparison) I decided to do a bit of research via google and I was shocked about what I found out about a soda that I had just started to drink and like about a three weeks ago!

I am talking about Mountain Dew:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_Dew

I discovered it about 3 weeks ago and loved it. It tasted different from coke and I thought it was neat. Since discovering it I have had had about 12 small cans and a single 2 liter flask. Plus I now have another 2 liter flask in my fridge. I thought I was lucky having discovered such a neat soda, until I started my google search about which sodas are the worst for you and discovered shit like this:

http://naturalsociety.com/pepsi-co-admits-to-mouse-disintigrating-from-mountain-dew/

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-mountain-dew-mouth.htm

So let me get this straight:

This shit is strong enough to dissolve animals and dentists can literally see the difference between a person that drinks Mountain Dew and a person that drinks something else, going as far as using the term "Mountain Dew mouth" to describe some people who have horrible mouths?

There was also a third new story/article that I can't relocate that made claims about Mountain Dew being about six times worse for your teeth then coke. Six freaken times!

It was coke that fucked my mouth in the first place and caused me to have to spend all that money and pain and the dentist, and your telling me that this shit that I have drinking for the past 3 weeks is over SIX TIMES worse?

What the fuck?

I mean I already knew that sodas were bad for your teeth and health and all of that, but isn't this just a little bit excessively unhealthy?

When I first discovered Mountain Dew about 3 weeks ago I thought it was awesome, but now after reading this stuff I honestly feel a bit sick just looking at that almost full 2 liter flask I have in my fridge. In fact, I am seriously considering just just throwing it away and buying some other soda instead.

Is this a soda or a poison?

Thoughts?
