According to Google Earth and a few other marine charts and world maps, there's an island called Sandy Island. It's supposed to be between Australia and New Caledonia in the South Pacific.
You see, a team of Australian scientists doing...science recently got bored and decided to find out if this island was actually there.
Turns out it wasn't.
