I really was hoping someone else would make this thread as depressing as this is. Sadly I do not see anything changing. Shootings happening in some of the most pro gun states and all the people here can do is add more guns to the problem and send thoughts and prayers while they send more money to the NRA.

Maybe if other Nations started putting the US on the "unsafe to travel list due to firearms" people might start to notice? I doubt it though, they do not seem to notice when they are having their children slaughtered so not sure anything else would make them realize they will only make this worse if they keep going in the direction they have chosen.

For Men's Liberation do men need to have access to having their own children and family without a woman as vice versa?

France, Spain, Germany's previous incarnations (Prussian Empire, Austrian Empire, Holy Roman Empire) The Italian Peninsula, Russia, All these nations were no where near as powerful as Great Britain when it became its Empire?

Like in the Middle Ages the Kingdom of England was just another medieval kingdom equel in rivalry with the other Euro Kingdoms.

But when it became Great Britain and then became its Empire, they were given a HUGE power boost.

All I am saying is what was your secret Great Britain? And I think its all to do with Ships and the Navy, but I wonder why your navy and not any other great nation's navy?

I decided to make this a topic into itself because I am curious.

As for my opinion so far, all I have is impressions, and so far all I can see from him is that he's pretty much become the Alt Right's professional and "clean" spokesperson like he's no Milo Yiannopolis or Sargon thats for sure, or he is, for lack of a better word, a useful idiot to the Alt Right. Whether or not he is in league with the Alt Right or not I have no idea which is why I made this thread.

But I like to see any other opinions regarding him.

Folks, with the site derping to the point of being inactive, well, now might just be the time to start saying goodbye. It looks like the new owners will be transferring us to a site of their own design so the Escapist as we have known and loved shall likely cease to be.

I started coming here 8 years ago. I stopped lurking in the fall of 2012 and quickly found myself welcomed and chatting with new friends from every corner of the planet. It hurts to see an era pass, but it hurts more to lose my long time friends.

Just in case these are the Escapist's last days I'd like to thank everyone for the (usually) good company. Perhaps we'll meet again on a new site--perhaps the future Escapist, even.

Game of Thrones is almost finished, and the Warcraft movie failed to launch one so no Lich King movie and no Warcraft Paladins on the big screen :(

I have always been a Fantasy guy and wish for a Cinematic Universe for it I long for the days when Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, and Harry Potter were regular thing in cinema, I am getting tired of Superhero movies (and since DCEU is changing to appeal to the mainstream's taste and firing Zack Snyder, its dead to me)

But what can be adapted to the big screen?

So it has come, it is the time to celebrate the Gothic, but how? How should we celebrate world Goth day? How are you celebrating your world Goth day and embracing your repressed dark side?

I am cunningly celebrating someone's birthday at the same time, so will sneak as many Goth references and distractions in as humanly possible without directly explaining why unless confronted and threatened with modern cheese pop or happy hardcore covers of emotional old songs.

So, some of you might be aware of the planned boycott of Solo. Some people are really unhappy with Keneally after Last Jedi. They dislike where Star Wars is going. Some dislike how women are put front and centre on the billboard. Etc.

My question is - why boycott Solo? It has male leads, supporting cast and villain. There's hardly a women in sight. Aren't they just going to punish a male lead, thus the feedback to Keneally would be "put more female leads in."

Not sure if this belongs here or Off Topic, but I'm gonna blindly charge in anyways.
With tons of celebrities and politicians being outed as sex offenders (And other stuff, but let's keep our terms simple) is there any celebrity/politician who you have enough faith in to say that nothing will come out aboot?
I'm gonna say anyone who's worked on the Stewart-era Daily Show. You know Sam Bee wouldn't let them pull that off without people knowing.
